November 30, 2016

Teknion Corporation today announced that it is an official sponsor of IIDEXCanada 2016 – the National Design + Architecture Exposition & Conference – running November 30 to December 1 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

Change Your View, Change Your Perspective is Teknion’s IIDEXCanada 2016 focus. Teknion will be supporting this workplace health and well-being initiative with such new products as the Zones Furniture Collection, Tek Pier integrated, height-adjustable, wall-mounted worksurface and monitor, and Teknion Sanna by Pablo lighting. In addition, Teknion is hosting two CEU seminars, and events such as Fit Breaks at its adjacent downtown Collaboration Hub.

"Maximizing health and well-being in the workplace today is largely dependant on office design that encourages people to choose between different types of workstyles, and that balances the need for privacy with the need for interaction," said Pamela Mason, Director of Canadian Marketing. "Our Collaboration Hub is a live lab where we will be showing how well-designed offices encourage movement throughout the work day, provide access to nature, natural light and views, and introduce a rich palette of materials, colors and finishes. Actions as simple as changing one’s position, location or view stimulate the body and senses, resulting in a new perspective on work."

Teknion is featuring new products designed to support healthy offices during IIDEXCanada. The Zones furniture collection of seating, tables, screens, easels and semi-private enclosures transforms the office, challenging convention and changing the way people experience work. Designed by PearsonLloyd in collaboration with Teknion, Zones is part of the IIDEXCanada Best of Design (Booth #4801) exhibit featuring the latest award-winning products from around the world.

Teknion is also showcasing Tek Pier – a demountable, wall-integrated, height-adjustable workspace and monitor. It is the first product of its kind to successfully merge wall-mounted monitors with height-adjustable worksurfaces. Tek Pier provides an ergonomic, collaborative experience. See it at Teknion Booth #708 during Construct Canada. Teknion Sanna by Pablo is a distinctly vibrant collection of LED lamps and task lighting that uses advanced LED technology, rich materials and a vast finish offering, thriving in any environment and elevating the user experience. Sanna is on display at Teknion’s Collaboration Hub.

Teknion is sponsoring a pair of health-and-well-being-themed CEU seminars during IIDEX. Greg Dekker, Teknion VP of Sales Effectiveness, presents The FOCUS Game: How to Fix Your Distracted Workplace. Tracy Backus, Teknion’s Director of Sustainable Programs, presents Designing for Health.

"Our IIDEX 2016 sponsorship also marks the first time we will have a public open house at our nearby Collaboration Hub," said Mason. "We encourage everyone attending the show to visit the Hub. Experience a holistic and inspiring approach to the healthy workplace, and participate in a chance to win a new Zones Solo Lounge Chair. Change your view, change your perspective!"

Teknion’s Collaboration Hub at 120 Bremner, Suite 2010, is within easy walking distance of the MTCC and is attached via PATH. The Hub will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 30 and December 1.

IIDEXCanada (November 30-December 1) and Construct Canada (November 30-December 2) are part of The Buildings Show, which includes PM Expo Toronto, World of Concrete Pavilion, HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo, and The Real Estate Forum Toronto. The Buildings Show is North America’s largest exposition, networking and education event for design, construction and real estate.
