Teknion Corporation today announced that its new Lite Wall and Journal casegoods products earned prestigious Best of NeoCon Awards at NeoCon, North America’s largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors, held June 9-11 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Lite Wall earned Gold in the Architectural Products category and Journal was recognized with Silver in the Casegoods category.

"Winning a pair of coveted Best of NeoCon Awards in a year that saw a record number of new product entries is a remarkable accomplishment," said David Feldberg, Teknion President & CEO. "These two prestigious awards are testaments to exceptional design work achieved by Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk for Lite Wall, and by Chris Wright and Steve Tsai for Journal."

Lite Wall

Lite Wall is a series of lightweight screens that respond to varying needs of the open office. Using magnets, Lite Wall easily reconfigures without tools or any visible connections. Varying screen heights accommodate standing, sitting, lounge and other critical datum lines in the system/office landscape. Lite Wall is one of several 2014 additions to the Teknion Studio portfolio of sofas and lounge seating, guest seating, tables and screens. Teknion Studio products are designed in response to the new demands for open areas and group workspaces in today’s evolving work environment.

Journal

TheJournal casegoods line enables the private office to function for focused, individual work, yet easily transform to accommodate more collaborative team environments. Sliding storage doors conceal effects in the private office, or reveal mounted screens for collaboration, aiding the transformation to a collaborative space. Sliding storage also indicates visually whether the space is in use as a private office, or available for group use. Height-adjustable tables, a pivoting bench, wire management options and a wealth of finishes contribute to product and application flexibility. With Journal, the space designed for a single user can now be used by five.

The 25th Best of NeoCon winners were announced June 10 at the annual Best of NeoCon breakfast. The competition received 416 entries – the highest number ever and the first time the competition received more than 370 entries. Best of NeoCon sponsors include Contract magazine, the IIDA (International Interior Design Association), IFMA (International Facility Management Association), Merchandise Mart Properties and The McMorrow Reports for Facilities Management.
