Teknion Studio today announced that its Cover collection of lounge seating and tables would be shown for the first time during NeoCon – the commercial interiors industry’s most important annual event – June 15-17 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Cover is light in scale and creates environments perfect for quick meetings and casual conferencing, or a private nook for individual reflection. Inviting and collaborative, Cover brings warmth and comfort to any environment.
“Our aim with the design is to imbue Cover with elegance and timeless qualities. The result is a furniture collection that blends well into a wide range of interior spaces, complementing other furniture in the room, regardless of style,” said Claesson Koivisto Rune. “Continuous, sweeping outlines and the layer-on-layer concept define the design while the slimmed dimensions gives Cover an important ‘furnishability’ factor. However, the Cover easy chair and sofa feature a generous seat, yet surprisingly economical outer measurements, making the collection really versatile.”
The Cover seating and table collection is in tune with any room, office or even home. With a high degree of upholstered comfort and the optional addition of privacy from a backrest screen, Cover works equally well in a breakout area, lounge or living room.
Cover’s design is inspired by how classically tailored garments are worn, in a layer-on-layer style. Coat on blazer. Blazer on waistcoat. Waistcoat on shirt. An example of this can be seen in one of the design’s main touchstones where the armrests transition smoothly in to the backrest, wrapping around the seat cushion in a manner reminiscent of a cape or ankle-length overcoat. The option to include a privacy screen as an additional layer increases this visual effect.
Cover seating includes a Swivel Lounge Chair, 4-Leg Lounge Chair, Three-Seat Sofa and Ottoman. Two choices of beautifully sculpted and precisely manufactured base options are available – a four-star pedestal or slim legs, both in diecast aluminum. Contrasting textile applications allow various configurations.
Cover tables add a complementary workspace in an array of different styles that include Coffee, Occasional, Work-Height and Bar-Height. A wide range of surface materials is available for table tops.
In addition to Cover, other new Teknion Studio products at NeoCon include the Cavu Tables Collection by Mario Ruiz, Qui Seating and Surface Collection by Monica Armani, and Infinito + Masalla Lounge, Settee, Sofa and Tables by Toan Nguyen.
